Chevy Will Sell Volt as 'More Car Than Electric' During MLB World Series

GM's first nationally televised ad campaign for the Chevy Volt will launch later this month during the MLB World Series on Fox. According to The Detroit News, the commercials will focus on the "freedom" provided by the Volt's extended range capabilities, which GM thinks will give it a much broader appeal than limited-range competitors like the Nissan LEAF. The carmaker will also use the World Series to promote its much-anticipated Chevy Cruze compact, in a spot narrated by Tim Allen. Between its choice of voiceover talent and platform for officially introducing these two fuel-savers to America, GM seems to be sending an ambitious message: It's manly to drive green.
