With Little Industry Experience and a Narcissistic CEO, Analyst Thinks Tesla is Doomed to Fail

Tesla Disputes the Importance of ZEV Credit Income

Tesla Motors has always shown a certain proclivity for engaging its critics. Tesla Stock Comes Back to Earth; Sun Rises in East, Sets in West

For a minute, it looked like Tesla Motors might double its stock value in just days, after its initial public offering climbed more than 75 percent from $17 to about $30 in about 48 hours. But for those familiar with early IPO trading, Tesla's fall to less than $16 today shouldn't come as a huge surprise.

Tesla Stock Offering Raises More Than $226 Million For the Profit-less Company

In what was, significantly, the first initial public stock offering from any U.S. automaker since 1956 when Ford went public, Tesla today managed to sell 13.3 million shares at $17 a share. Even more significantly, Tesla's stock has been climbing steadily all day and, as of 2:30 PM New York time sits above $20 per share and rising. Yet, it appears Tesla has struck a chord with investors who see the potential in electric cars.

Tesla IPO: Much Ado About Nothing

While these are great story lines, in reality, Tesla’s raising of capital won’t mean much to the company’s future success or have a significant impact on future cleantech IPOs.

Tesla-Toyota Partnership Won't Spawn a New Vehicle Anytime Soon

The much-heralded collaboration between Toyota and Tesla turns out add up to less than many had thought.
