A Volt vs. LEAF 'Showdown' on NPR's Science Friday

The waiting lists for the Chevy Volt and Nissan LEAF contain quite a few rabid fans of each vehicle who have sometimes been known to knock the other's technology or vision. But expect things to be a lot more civil this afternoon when Chevy's Tony Posawatz and Nissan's Mark Perry sit down together on NPR's Science Friday.

Perry, who is the director of product planning for Nissan North America, and Posawatz, the vehicle line director for the Chevy Volt, will join host Ira Flatow and answer questions from callers about the two vehicles and the broader future of electrified transportation. There's no denying that there's a certain degree of rivalry between the two companies being that they're the first two carmakers to market with plug-ins, but things figure to remain good-natured and civil. As has been pointed out on this site in the past, nobody benefits from mudslinging at this point in the game.

If you've got any questions for Posawatz and Perry, call in this afternoon at 2pm EST. Check out NPR's website to stream the show, or find your local affiliate.
